Lime Design hosted an innovation workshop for Mississippi State University, in which faculty from the School of Business and the School of Architecture joined forces to explore ways to take advantage of the beautiful atrium space of the School of Business. Supported by the expert coaching of Lime Design, participants went out in the field to observe and interact with students. They uncovered many problems, which they reframed as opportunities to transform the atrium into a space that better supports the mission of the School of Business. They brainstormed a myriad of potential solutions and tested prototypes with students and faculty. The workshop highlighted the crucial role of space in driving and shaping human activity, the need to integrate diverse viewpoints in the design of environments and experiences, and the feasibility of integrating the design thinking process with traditional research approaches.
